Lillian Johnson, 94, of Spooner died March 9 at Community Memorial Nursing Home in Spooner, where she had been a resident since 1985.
Mrs. Johnson was born March 27, 1902 to Otto and Anna (Blankenburg) Metzdorf in Ashland and attended schools there. She served as the town clerk of the Town of Brooklyn and postmaster at Lampson from 1939-41. She lived in the Spooner and Trego area for many years and had been an active member of the Spooner Senior Citizens and the Trego Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include three sons, Earl Ackley of Minong, John Lawson of Hertel, and Otto Lawson of Sheldon, Iowa; five stepsons, Harvey Lawson of Sheldon, Iowa, Marvin Johnson of North Pole, Alaska, Astrid Johnson of Anchorage, Alaska, and Melvin Johnson and Vincent Johnson, both of Shell Lake; three daughters, Mildred Magnus of Spooner, Lillian Hoselton of Kenosha and Anna Johnson of Shell Lake; two stepdaughters, Louise Paskett of Duluth, and Hilda Sommerfeld of Spooner; a brother, Ray Metzdorf of Ladysmith; a sister, Mildred Neuman of San Diego, Calif.; and 26 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Paul Ackley, Harvey Lawson and Oscar Johnson, and two sons, Paul Ackley and William Lawson
