I want to thank you for being here today, not only to honor the memory of my mother, but to celebrate her going home. We will miss her and there will be tears, maybe for weeks, months and even years. But I would not wish her back. You see, she suffered more pain in the past four years perhaps than most of us will have in a lifetime. I know now that we can be confident of God's presence, power, and control even in our darkest hours.

My Mother has gone to a place where the streets are paved with gold, where there is no more pain, sickness, sorrow, or dying. She is in a place where I will one day go and spend eternity with her.

The tears you may see hear today are because we will miss her. But there are far more tears of joy, for she is free from pain and with our Lord.

I thank you for your thoughts, calls, visits, cards and prayers.

I thank my husband for his kind, gentle and loving support for me and my mother in these past years. And I thank him for being by my side when God took her home.

Most of all, I thank my God for the power of prayer and for His peace and presence with us in those final moments. And I thank Him for those Special people He placed around us in our time of need.

Thank You, Lord for giving my Mother the best birthday ever.
YOU are an Awesome GOD!
