PULASKI - Mrs. Ruth Ackley, 62, of Bridge St., died yesterday at the home of a niece, Mrs. Robert Barnard, Altmar, following a| short illness. She was born in the Town of Albion on Nov. 20, 1894, the daughter of William and Mary Elizabeth Burton Ellis. Her early education was in the rural "schools there and she graduated, from Pulaski Academy." Following her marriage to Mr. Ackley, they operated a farm in the vicinity of Altmar for many years, and after his death in October. 1948, she came to Pulaski to live. Mrs. Ackley was an active member of the Salmon River Home Demonstration unit, a member of the Legion Auxiliary, Pulaski; Pulaski Grange, Auxiliary of the Salmon River Barracks, and a member of the Baptist .Church. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Albert (Doris) Mattion; a sister, Mrs. Alto Rowell, Pulaski; two grandchildren, Nancy and Richard Mattison, Altmar, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Wednesday with a prt from the home of her daughter Mrs. Albert Mattison, Altmar, at 1 p.m. and services from the Pulaski Baptist Church at 2 p.m The Rev. Frederick Anderson, of Hamilton, former pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Altmar. Friends may call at the home of Mrs. Mattison at their convenience.
